PILATES

Tralee Physiotherapy Clinic is the only clinic in Tralee with its own dedicated Pilates Studio with machines and state of the art equipment. We offer both mat and machine pilates classes in the clinic. In addition we offer ante natal and post natal pilates classes.

Pilates is a holistic form of exercise that teaches you to be more aware of your body's posture, balance, strength and movement. We use Pilates as a form of rehabilitation, correcting faulty movement and muscle patterns, which if left untreated can result in painful conditions including low back pain.

Mat Classes:

We take a maximum of 8 people per mat class.
A mat class will be done on the floor using equipment such as:
• Stability ring
• Stability ball
• Foam rollers
• Theraband
• Arc barrels
• Pilates hand balls

Machines Classes:

We take a maximum of 4 people per machines class.
A mat class will be done using the primarily the following equipment:
• Reformer
• Cadillac
• Stability Chair

These machines are used for general fitness or rehabilitation after an injury, e.g., low back pain, knee and hip replacement, shoulder surgery. The machines are spring loaded and challenge the muscles as you move through your own flexibility.

Please email in or call clinic to book into a pilates class.

STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Co-founders Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent more than two decades refining the STOTT PILATES method of exercise and equipment. This resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and effective methods available. This clear and detailed approach forms the basis for STOTT PILATES training and certification programs. It’s used by rehab and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between.”
